The 250 attendees were treated to the full VIP backstage experience in the new lounge, which has been given a £2.6m refurbishment by Brighton-based Platform Group.

New-look features include private-dining suites and walls decorated with images of The O2’s most memorable performers, emulating the luxury design of the artists’ own backstage area.

Rebecca Kane, general manager at The O2, said: "We’re thrilled to be able to offer VIPs an experience like no other in The American Express Invites Lounge. We wanted to create a desirable space that could give guests a truly unique and exclusive experience to compliment the calibre of entertainment available at The O2. Now guests will not only get the best seats in the house, but the privilege and glamour of the full backstage experience, creating an unforgettable night out for all VIPs."

VIP membership includes ten shows of the member’s choice annually, guaranteed access to every show with the best seats in the house, entry to the new American Express Invites Lounge and a dedicated account manager.
