IMEX America kicked off this week at the Sands Expo, Las Vegas, which attracted 2,900 hosted buyers, including representatives from major brands such as Coca-Cola, Toyota and Microsoft. On Tuesday night (14 October), C&IT held a drinks reception for its top clients that included Canada Tourism, Oneworld alliance, The Grove and Vega DMC at Lavo at The Palazzo.
On the same evening, the rest of the C&IT team were celebrating after picking up a hat-trick of gongs at the Business Travel Journalism Awards. The team picked up Meetings & Events Editorial Team of the Year and Supplement of the Year for C&IT's State of the Industry report 2014, while C&IT's editor-in-chief Yasmin Arrigo won Meetings & Events Editor of the Year for the third consecutive year.
C&IT reporter Jack Carter was shortlisted for Best Newcomer to Meetings & Events Journalism and also Business Travel News Journalist of the Year, along with news editor Alison Ledger.

Hospitality management company Delaware North launched Charlton Events at Charlton Athletic FC last night (16 October) in the North Stand Suite with a culinary tasting experience for event planners.
C&IT stayed at the new Conrad London St James hotel and took a few snaps of the lobby's artwork, which included a wrok by UK artists Evil Robot Designs, which takes inspiration from the hotel's location in Westminster and depicts an alternative look at the House of Commons.
