London named top city for culture

London has won a Best City for Culture accolade at the inaugural Leading Culture Destinations awards.

London competed against Paris, New York, Miami, Shanghai, Oslo and Berlin to win the accolade at the Leading Culture Destinations awards, which took place at the Jumeirah Carlton Tower in London on Friday (10 October).

The Tate Modern London also won three awards for Leading Culture Destination 2014, Leading Culture Destination for Exhibitions & Programming and for Digital Experience.

Museo Jumex in Mexico City was chosen as the Best New Culture Destination and The Guggenheim Museum in Bilbao was named Leading Culture Destination for Architecture & Spatial Design.
