Ashfield Meetings & Events completed the deal with Medex-Media, formerly part of the Knowledge Point 360 Group, on 1 October.

In March, UDG Healthcare, Ashfield's parent company, bought Knowledge Point 360 Group and has been reviewing the group's businesses since then.

"The strategic decision to integrate the services of Medex-Media and Ashfield Meetings & Events will strengthen both businesses," said Luke Flett, head of sales and marketing at Ashfield Meetings & Events. "Since the acquisition in March, we have already seen that by working collaboratively and blending skill sets we can develop more innovative solutions for our clients.

"This has already resulted in business development successes, demonstrating that by working together we have a more powerful offering to our clients."

The Medex-Media business will continue to operate from their current office in Tytherington, Macclesfield, the headquarters from where they deliver more than 70 international projects a year.

Joanne Brook, Ashfield's head of engagement, will have responsibility for Medex-Media from the senior management team at Ashfield Meetings & Events.

Brook said that the Medex-Media team and the existing engagement team at Ashfield have already had time to work together following the acquisition. She said: "It has ensured we have been able to understand the synergies and enhanced value we can offer and have communicated the benefits to clients.

"In one way the official transition of Medex-Media into our business marks the end of all the hard work to date. However, it also represents the start of an exciting journey for both businesses that will bring about opportunities for both our staff and our clients."
