Zurich's winter warmers

C&IT checks out ideas and inspiration in Zurich for incentive options in the winter season.

Ice sculpting: Groups of between 10 to 60 can try their hand at creating temporary, artistic sculpture from a large block of ice, with ice blocks, sculpting tools and gloves for each team. While more suited to the winter months, the activity can be arranged at all times of the year.

Whisky seminars: The Wädi-Brau-Huus-Team offers seminars for groups of up to 35, which involves the making of the first Wädenswiler Single Malt Whisky, alongside a four-course whisky menu with specialties from four different countries.

Tour of Zurich’s ‘warmth’: For an activity with a difference, experience first hand how ERZ, Zurich Disposal and Recycling Services, turns burnable trash into CO2 neutral thermal heat and environmentally-friendly electricity. During the tour of an incineration plant, visitors will follow the waste, see it being burned and how it is converted into usable energy. The activity is suited to groups of between five to 25.

Afterwork trekking: Take a hike with Siberian huskies above Lake Zurich, followed by a meat or cheese fondue with salad and dessert served in a ‘Husky Hut’. Groups of up to 32 can take part.
