Rocco Forte completes sale of the Lowry Hotel

The five-star Lowry Hotel in Manchester has been sold in a multi-million pound deal.

Owner RoccoForte Hotels has sold the 158-room, five-star property in Salford to Westmont Hospitality Group and its investment partner Mount Kellett Capital Management.

The management team will be retained to continue running the luxury hotel and its new owners have promised a programme of refurbishments to further enhance the hotel’s offering.

Sir Rocco Forte, chairman of Rocco Forte Hotels, said: "I am very proud that we created the Lowry as a first-class hotel in 2001 with an outstanding team and, in the process, played a role in the renaissance which Manchester has enjoyed in recent years."

The Lowry, Manchester’s first five-star luxury hotel, opened in 2001 and was put up for sale previously in 2007, before being taken off the market in 2013.
