Darkstar Events UK was given the challenge of devising a final test activity for a group of young insurance brokers as part of the annual Insurance Times IT Pack competition. Since there would be an individual winner, the client was keen that the event not only tested teambuilding skills, but also highlighted individual skills.

Participants were given the task of converting an ordinary family estate car into a multi-emergency vehicle that would be capable of handling any manner of emergency scenarios from riots to fires and injured patient care. The cars were then put through their paces in a series of tests, with a few curve balls thrown in to keep the teams on their toes and test their ability to react under pressure.

Judges from the sponsoring company, Aviva, observed throughout the activity, identifying a winning team and individual at the end of the day.

Rachel Douglass, event manager, Insurance Times, said: "Darkstar really understood what we are trying to achieve and delivered a perfect, seamless event which not only met, but exceeded, each of our objectives."
