Venue

The Grove, Hertfordshire

One of Google's most prominent annual events, Zeitgeist brings together 500 global thought leaders and visionaries in a tent in the grounds of The Grove, Hertfordshire, for a two-day conference. Each year the event strives to exceed previous years both in terms of content and theming.

For 2013 organisers BrandFuel recreated a wild forest meadow for the gala dinner, complete with coordinating projection mapping and background birdsong. Eight 16ft trenches were dug in the hotel's croquet lawn to ground the truss legs for the projectors, then four life-size, fibreglass oak trees were built to disguise them. Entertainment was provided by American electric violinist Lindsey Sterling and chart-topping singer Jessie J.

Following the dinner, the production team had to work overnight to transform the space into a conference set for the Big Tent media, which was being held immediately after. The event also won this year's Business & Finance Event of the Year award.
