Smyle managing director Rick Stainton has revealed that the agency is looking to acquire and/or merge with a 'number of agencies' following the relocation to a new London office.

Following the move to a new London base and a series of new client wins, Stainton told C&IT: "We are looking to potentially acquire and/or partner with a number of agencies and we are currently talking to a number of parties.

"We are looking for an agency who shares our culture, has a vision aligned with ours and a team who can support our long-term mission.

"A good partnership gives you a strong team that can generate winning ideas and it’s good to show a client you can work with other agencies with different skill sets, as it allows you to get into bigger conversations."

Smyle’s new office is located at No. 1 Angel in Islington and will house the agency’s growing creative and video teams.

With a view to recruiting new staff within the next year, including a new head of client services, Stainton added: "There is a great web of talent in the industry that we haven’t tapped into yet.

"We have a three-year strategy with a number of objectives we need to deliver on. We’ve had lots of client wins over the last six months that are currently at an embryonic stage, so we need better talent and a better structure to nurture those new accounts."
