Lyon: gourmet addresses

Lyon in France is renowned for its gastronomic offer. C&IT takes a look at some of the city's food and wine offers for groups.

Plum Lyon: Located in the ancient silk-worker's district on the hill of the Croix Rousse, a Unesco World Heritage site, Plum Lyon offers seasonal market classes and classic French cooking for groups of between 6-8 people. Full day cooking classes include a market visit, where participants can fill a basket with ingredients for their cooking challenge.

Delicieusement Votre: Teambuilding sessions, cooking lessons and tastings focused on learning more about food and wine techniques are available for groups at Delicieusement Votre.

Nunc est Bibendum: Groups can take beginners classes in the vineyards or indulge in wine-themed evening events and tasting classes.

For a taste of Lyon delicacies, groups can visit Maison Bahadourian to discover a multitude of fragrances, including spices, herbs, seasoning, condiments, coffees, teas and pastries. Tasting sessions are also available at A L'Olivier, a purveyor of oil and olives in all forms since 1822. Groups can discover some of the more than 70 flavour-packed oils, including basil-flavoured oil, in addition to vinegars and fresh products. Chocolate enthusiasts should make a beeline for Palomas,  an expert chocolate and confectionery maker founded in Lyon-Bellecour.
