The quarter-of-a-million-pound investment has introduced new LED lighting throughout the venue’s galleria; high-definition projectors in the auditorium and meetings room and an infrared assisted listening system.

Nicky Norman, senior production and technical manager, said: "We are continually investing in new equipment, providing every event with the in-house services, expertise and facilities they may need."

The venue has also made five new appointments to its production and technical department, including a new production manager for entertainment and sport, a senior rigging technician and three production technicians.

So far this year, ACC Liverpool has provided in-house productions for a variety of conferences including the NHS Confederation, Accelerate 2014 and The Swinton Group's annual sales conference and gala dinner.

Last month (July), ACC Liverpool was awarded certification to the international standard, ISO 20121, boosting the venue's sustainable event credentials.
