Lowe, who has been on on gardening leave since the begining of July, took on the role in January 2013 as Capita Travel and Events launched, following Capita's acquisition of BSI, Expotel and Venues Event Management.

Lowe said: "It’s been a busy few years of agency integration but I feel it is now time to leave Capita Travel and Events and pursue a new career in our industry."

Senior client development manager Hayley Mansfield-Lang will now lead Capita Travel and Events’ specialist M&E account management teams.

Mark Flashman, previously of GLH Hotels and Conference Care, joined the agency in June as strategic business development manager, and is now responsible for new business.

Trevor Elswood, chief commercial officer, Capita Travel and Events, said: "Anita has been important in the successful transition to the Capita Travel and Events brand. We thank her for her commitment and wish her the very best in the future.

"Anita leaves a very settled and focused team. They are so passionate about the specialist differentiation that both venue finding and creative events means to our customers, and are a credit to our business."

C&IT interviewed Anita Lowe last year about her plans for Capita Travel and Events.
