Owen, who joined on 1 August, will head up marketing activity for Bowood House and Gardens, plus Bowood Hotel, Spa and Golf Resort in Wiltshire. He leaves Etc Venues as head of marketing, which he joined in May 2007.

The Bowood estate has been owned by the Lansdowne family since 1754 and Lord and Lady Lansdowne recently decided to make Bowood House available for private events for around 100 guests.

Owen said: "Being part of a superb Etc Venues team has been great but I’m thrilled now to be moving on to this exciting new challenge. Bowood is a wonderfully prestigious venue with a fascinating history."

Bowood hotel has 37 rooms, six suites, an 18-hole championship golf course and a private four-bedrrom lodge, which can be hired exclusively.
