The acquisition of Universal Meeting Management (UMM) will help BCD M&I to increase its service offerings, including proprietary technologies for the healthcare provider sector, particularly in the south-eastern states of the US.

BCD M&I global president Scott Graf said: "The employees of UMM bring our clients something very valuable with their unrivalled expertise in planning and executing pharmaceutical events.

"Acquisition is key to our strategic growth plan, and we could not have found a better cultural fit than the one that currently exists at UMM."

UMM also has experience in product launches, medical meetings and a technology platform that tracks, measures and reports meeting analytics to achieve financial transparency, audit readiness and compliance.

Graf added: "Our combined international reach and extensive experience in meeting and events management will further enhance our position as the leader in pharmaceutical meeting management across the globe."

BCD M&I recently reported a 78% growth in operating profit in the UK.
