Basel is to join the Meetings & Events division of the Grass Roots Düsseldorf office as sales director for strategic meetings management (SMM) on 1 October.

In his role, Basel will work with David Taylor, sales director of The Grass Roots Group, and will be responsible for developing and maintaining senior business relationships and seeking new global business opportunities.

Basel joins from CWT Meetings & Events, where he held various key sales roles for the Germany and Austria business, most recently as head of programme management for CWT Meetings & Events Central Europe.

Grass Roots Germany offers all four divisional specialisms: Employee Solutions, Customer Engagement, Promotions & Incentives and Meetings & Events.

David Taylor said: "We are seeing significant demand for our strategic meetings management expertise in Germany and across Europe. Creating a SMM devoted area will enable us to focus on delivering first class solutions for our clients – new and existing – and will be a great addition to many of the highly regarded solutions we’re already providing."
