First Protocol recorded pre-tax profit of £145,000 for the year ending 30 September 2013, according to accounts filed at Companies House.

The agency also saw turnover rise 25% from £6m to £7.5m.

Mark Riches, managing director of First Protocol, told C&IT: "We are really pleased with our performance and I put it down to hard work and our fanatical desire to look after our clients and our people.

"In 2013, we reinvested in our finance team, marketing tools and we continue to invest in production and creative services. The Singapore office, which we opened two years ago, is also seeing a lot of growth.

"We increased headcount from around 100 people to 125 and we plan to recruit 40 staff over the next six months. We have an ambitious three-year growth strategy and we will beat it."
