Event professionals will be able to use the new online portal to share knowledge, ideas, opinion and research on the subject of hybrid events.

The initiative will be used as a research tool for The Live Group as it looks to evolve new event technologies for the industry.

This follows The Live Group's launch of Locator Function, a new piece of event technology that allows delegates to network through room mapping and augmented reality using iBeacon technology.

Toby Lewis, managing director of the Live Group, said: "We’ve run a number of focus groups with our clients on event technology and they’ve revealed a surprising, perhaps even alarming, range of opinions, understanding and interpretations of what hybrid events encompass.

"It’s an area that needs clarification, both in terms of what it means and the opportunity it presents for event organisers."
