The Grass Roots Group has created the role of global account director for David Taylor to focus on new business opportunities within WPP, which is one of the group's major shareholders and one of the world's largest communications services group, with an extensive and potentially lucrative client base for Grass Roots.
Taylor will split his time between his existing strategic meetings management sales role for the Grass Roots Meetings & Events division and his new position, where he will be responsible for progressing a global strategic plan, identifying the most appropriate offerings and recommending various investments as necessary.
Taylor’s new role has also led to Hannah Wilkinson stepping up to take sole responsibility for sales and account management for Grass Roots Meetings & Events division, while Sue Massey will extend her head of operations role to also look after strategic meetings management implementation.
This follows the news last week that Grass Roots is drawing up a list of potential acquisitions, following the release of its financial results for 2013. The agency also revealed its global expansion plans for 2014-15.
