Laura Bailey, formerly of Owl Live, joins as senior event producer while former Liverpool FC head of creative services Steve Hartley has joined as head of creative across HGA Creative’s events, design, film and video and digital businesses. He has already grown his department with the appointments of Elliot Garner as graphic designer and Ian Austin as digital manager.

The communications agency says the appointments will build on the success of its record-breaking 25th year.

Earlier this month, it reported profits of almost £400,000 and record-breaking sales of £2.5m for its financial year to 1 June 2014, following business wins with Santander, Amey and Home Retail Group.

Michael Henderson, managing director commented: "Year 25 was an amazing year for the business, but the future is the thing that excites me the most.

"We’ve never had such a strong team at this senior level – and it reflects our determination to see our business punch its weight in the industry. We will continue to develop our core strengths but, particularly with the appointment of Sophie Parkinson, will be addressing areas of the events market that we have previously been cautious of entering."
