The 64-room hotel will close to undergo a £28m renovation project that will decrease the number of guestrooms to 54 in order to accommodate demand from luxury travellers as well as refurbishing the property's public spaces.

The Cadogan hotel, which has been operating for 127 years, will reopen in summer 2016 and will join Belmond’s other UK properties, which include the Belmond British Pullman, Belmond Northern Belle and Belmond Le Manoir aux Quat’Saisons in Oxfordshire.

In February, Orient Express Hotels announced that its collection of hotels, trains and river cruises would be renamed as Belmond as part of a £9m rebrand.
