MPI reveals board of directors for 2014/15

MPI UK & Ireland has announced its new board of directors for 2014/15, with IMEX Group's Miguel Neves remaining as president and Zibrant's Richard Parker becoming president elect.

Richard Parker, director of healthcare strategy at Zibrant, has been announced as president elect and will take on the role of president from 1 July 2015. Twickenham Experience’s Samme Allen will continue her role as past president.

The association’s team of vice presidents will remain in place, with Jane Baker, commercial director UK at CWT Meetings & Events, continuing her position as VP of education.

James Ades, senior account manager, associations at ExCel London, will also continue his responsibility for managing the chapter’s marketing and communication as VP of communications.

Following Ruth Bennett’s departure from London & Partners, Richard Allchild, sales manager at the IMEX Group, will take up the position of VP of membership, having spent two years working in this field with Bennett and the association’s other VPs.

Liz Rice, director, Metro Broadcast, will remain as VP of certification where she will continue to develop and promote the CMP qualification in the UK and Ireland.

Last week (24 June), EVCOM revealed its new 18-person board, to be headed by DRP Group's Dale Parmenter, although some event professionals were left bemused by the size of the association's new board.

In May, MPI released its spring Meetings Outlook report, revealing that 43% of event professionals predict an increase in budget, wile 73% predict better business conditions for 2014.
