Newly elected board members to the trade body EVCOM, which formed following a recent merger between Eventia and the IVCA, includes Nick Terry, Top Banana; Andrew Smith, A-Vision UK; Heather Robinson, Heather Robinson Live Comm; Izania Downie, Freelance; Andrew Winterburn, Ashfield Healthcare and Angela Law, Every Sense.

Re-elected board members: Rachel Ley, RLC Productions and Brian Kirsch, Event Assured.

Continuing board members are: Steve Garvey, Stream UK; Sharon Bennett, CTN; Steve Garratt, The Giggle Group;  Barnaby Logan, MerchantCantos; Richard McHardy, The McHardy Collective; Carrie Rose, BDA; Emma Cashmore, Axis Travel Marketing; Simon Hughes, MCH Associates, Paul Hussey, The Conference Doctor; and Rory Sloan, RPM.

This follows the news that EVCOM has cut its annual summer conference, formerly 'Summer Eventia', to a one-day programme, which will now take place in September.

The new EVCOM board was elected at the annual general meetings of Eventia and IVCA at the QEII Conference Centre in London last week. The meeting was the last time the two trade bodies would meet as separate entities. It will now move forward as EVCOM.

The meeting was preceded by a Senior Advisory Council, which brought together industry professionals to discuss key issues affecting the industry, including globalisation; impact, effectiveness and metrics around ROI and the economic landscape and elections.
