Exclusive: Network Rail changes 'to result in redundancies'

Network Rail's relocation to new offices at the end of the year will result in redundancies and significant changes to its events team, according to the brand's marketing specialist Rebecca Harmer.

Speaking exclusively to C&IT, Harmer said: "Our office is relocating towards the end of the year, which will result in redundancies and significant changes to the team and how work is distributed.

"Network Rail is now at the start of our control period for the next five years, which means all budgets are being closely looked at and greater savings need to be made moving forward. We are being asked to deliver more for less."

This is despite Network Rail expanding its events team within the last year due to increasing workloads.

"Over the last three years we have seen the demand for event solutions massively increase within the company and I would expect this to continue."

In February, Network Rail revealed that it had appointed Quadrant Events to deliver its annual 'Business Briefings' roadshow for up to 10,000 people.
