Terry, who co-founded Top Banana 15 years ago, has experience in video production and event organisation and will join EVCOM with the aim of representing similar profiles within the association’s membership.
On joining EVCOM, Terry said: "EVCOM should play a major role to lobby and build our sector’s profile. We’ve proved we’re an industry that the world looks to for live communication.
"The events and video communications markets have proved they can respond quickly, grow quickly and surely should be attractive to the government, and worthy of their support.
"Part of the challenge for EVCOM is the very diversity of the industry, but it has worked hard to get a balance in its board to represent the full profile of its membership, with a figurehead to unite us."
In other EVCOM news, chairman Dale Parmenter revealed today (20 June) that its Summer EVCOM event, which takes place at Olympia London in September, has reduced its planned two-day, two-night event to a one-day conference.
