C&IT exclusively revealed last month that the events industry association, which was renamed following a merger between Eventia and IVCA in March, had postponed its annual "Summer Eventia" conference till September after plans to hold it this month in Liverpool as part of the International Festival for Business, were shelved.

At the time EVCOM chairman Dale Parmenter said the plan was to run a two-day, two-night event in September.

However, the association announced yesterday that it will now be a one-day programme of education, networking and discussion will sit alongside a celebration and festival of art and entertainment.

Marco Forgione, chief executive of EVCOM said: "We firmly believe there is still a need for this type of event in the educational calendar and look forward to producing Summer EVCOM this September."

The theme of the event will be collaboration, tying in with the merger of the two associations, focusing on how we should all work together along with what technologies, marketing methodologies and business practices exist to help foster success via collaboration.

Delegates unable to attend the main conference programme are still able to buy a ticket for EVCOM Fest, which will take place during the evening of 17 September.
