Clarion's new conference and business hotel, Clarion Hotel The Edge, opened beside Tromso's city centre port last month (May), expanding the hotel chain's Norwegian portfolio to 30 properties. The 290-room hotel offers 11 meeting spaces, as well as a state-of-the-art congress hall for up to 1,000 delegates.

Bergen also saw the addition of a new hotel this month with the opening of the 368-room Scandic Ornen, the largest hotel in the city. The property includes 16 meeting rooms and conference facilities fit for 700 delegates, as well as the city's first sky bar situated on the 13th floor, with views over the mountains.

Last month, Carlson Rezidor Hotel Group opened a dualbranded hotel in the Norwegian capital with The Radisson Blu Hotel, Oslo Alna and the Park Inn by Radisson Hotel & Conference Centre Oslo Alna. Operating under one roof, the two hotels offer 348 rooms while sharing a restaurant, bar, lounge and reception area. Combined, the two properties include 21 meeting rooms, as well as 2,000m2 of event space with capacity for up to 800 delegates.

The Stavanger Forum, one of Norway's largest conference and exhibition centres, will unveil the new Forum Expo exhibition hall this month (June) to add to its 25 existing meeting spaces. The Forum Expo can accommodate conferences and exhibitions for up to 4,000 people across 4,700m2 of event space.
