The conference will take place on 25-27 March 2015 and is expected to attract approximately 300 delegates to the region.

Local ambassador, Mohamed Abdel-Fattah, who helped the venue secure the conference, said: "I am delighted that we were able to attract this important meeting to Aberdeen. The UKCS Annual Meeting is the largest national meeting in our speciality, followed by the SPFN Annual Meeting.

"This is the first time that the two societies will hold their annual meeting together and I am honored to chair such an important combined medical event.

"I would like to thank Visit Scotland for their support in securing this meeting for Aberdeen."

Earlier this month, the AECC secured the Hydro14 conference, which takes place in October, with help from Visit Scotland's National Subvention Fund.
