Grass Roots Meetings & Events is the latest agency to announce that it has secured a place on the £50m Crown Commerical Service framework for both lots for event management and production services.

Grass Roots has been awarded the place for a term of two years, which can be extended for a further two one-year periods. The framework is due to go live live on 9 June.

C&IT broke the news today that Crown is on the events roster, and joins the Live Group and Capita Travel and Events, which have both been appointed to two lots for event planning, management and delivery services and also AV equipment, services, design and integration.

The Government's events tender was launched in November 2013, after expressions of interest were submitted by last September.

The plan was to award 20-25 agencies and suppliers by December 2013 for a framework worth between £40m and £50m.

Des Mclaughlin, divisional director of Grass Roots Meetings & Events, said:"The public sector is responsible for some of the most innovative and creative live events within the UK and so it’s hugely exciting to be a part of the framework."
