Trade association Evcom, which was re-named following a merger between Eventia and the IVCA in March, was planning to hold its annual conference at the end of June in Liverpool as part of the International Festival for Business (IFB).

The assocation is now finalising details to host the event in September at another city in the UK and expects to make an official announcement in two weeks' time.

Talking exclusively to C&IT, Evcom chair Dale Parmenter said: "Timing has been a key factor. There has been so much going on with the merger that we wanted more time to incorporate the IVCA strand into the conference and to ensure we get it right.

"We are looking at a two-day, two-night event that encompasses a wide range of content for everyone from a venue and DMC to video production and event manegement. We have received pitches from a number of venues that we're hoping to finalise in the next week."

Evcom is planning to host a board retreat in Liverpool, as part of the IFB, with other industry associations including ISES (International Special Events Society) and ABPCO (Association of British Professional Conference Organisers).

Evcom recently announced that it has partnered with The Meetings Show 2014, which takes place in London in July.
