Industry professionals from across the globe attended the 12th annual Imex show in Frankfurt this week (19-22 May), the largest in its history. Imex Group chairman Ray Bloom revealed that the show hosted 9,000 visitors and a further 4,000 hosted buyers from 77 countries. Speaking at the closing press conference, Bloom stated that despite the success of Imex Frankfurt and Imex America, they have no plans to launch a third show in Asia.

Imex hosted its 12th annual Gala Dinner after the 2nd day of the show (21 May) at the Sheraton Hotel. Up to 10 different industry awards were handed out to a selection of industry professionals, including Tom Hulton (JMIC Unity Award), Edgar Hirt (Academy Award for Europe) and Fay Beauchline (Academy Award for the Americas).

More than 400 guests attended Site Night 2014 at the InterContinental Frankfurt Hotel on the opening night of Imex 2014. The cocktail reception, which is an annual event at the show, helped raise funds for the Site International Foundation.

C&IT hosted its own dinner in Frankfurt on Wednesday night (21 May) for representatives from a selection of venues including Disney, Viceroy Hotels and Resorts and Melia Hotel Group.

Corporate Events staged the World Procurement Congress, which took place across two days at Hilton Park Lane, London this week (19-20 May). Around 500 guests attended the event including delegates from Coca-Cola, Siemans and Unilever, with tennis legend Boris Becker hosting the gala dinner and awards ceremony.

Finally, along with corporates including Natwest and G4S, C&IT enjoyed a slice of Keith Prowse hospitality on the Kia Oval's Corinthian Roof Terrace at the England v Sri Lanka T20 cricket on Tuesday (20 May). The game was the first in a series of cricketing corporate hospitality events throughout the summer, including the England v India Test Match on 15-19 August.
