Business Events Canada hosted 50 event professionals at the awards dinner, which took place at the boutique hotel Schlosshotel Kronberg in Frankfurt.

Emma Cashmore, managing director of Axis Travel Marketing, which represents Business Events Canada, handed the award to C&IT for its "support in inspiring readers to explore Canada as a meetings and events destination".

C&IT's editor-in-chief Yasmin Arrigo said: "We are thrilled to be named Business Events Canada's Media Partner of the Year - particularly at Imex's busiest show to date. The team has worked tirelessly to grow our digital platform and community, while also innovating with the launch of new events and special reports, so to be recognised by Imex is highly motivating to everyone attached to the brand."

Trinity Conferences also picked up an award, as did Malcolm MacMillan of the International Confederation of Midwives, which will be bringing 4,000 delegates to Canada in 2017.
