This year's Imex has been labelled the biggest ever with more exhibitors, more hosted buyers and its biggest education programme to date.

Highlights of day one included UN tourism head Taleb Rifai labelling the meetings industry powerful but underpromoted, as well as the news that the Dubai Association Centre has confirmed its first association win, the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India.

In the evening, C&IT attended Business Events Canada's fourth Imex Vision Awards at Schlosshotel Kronberg, where we picked up an award for 'Media Partner of the Year'.
