The Meeting Professionals International (MPI) report, which is published quarterly, also found that 53% of respondents are experiencing shorter lead times, whereas 30% stated that their lead times haven’t changed at all.
A further 53% of respondents also predicted that attendance numbers will increase, while 66% are expecting a rise in virtual attendance with the continued integration of event technology.
Cynthia Bullock, MPI Eastern Great Lakes Chapter, said: "Technology and meeting planner apps for everything, from prepayment to registration, are a daily part of event planning.
"Just to be aware of what’s out there puts you at the forefront of the competitive market."
A selection of MPI’s 20,000 members across 71 chapters took part in the report, which was developed in partnership with the Dallas Convention & Visitors Bureau.
