James worked in the music business in Ibiza and Australia running venues and club nights, before joining Jack Morton on the logistics side for his first stint in 2008. He went back to Australia, then rejoined Jack Morton on the production side in 2011.

Boss says: "James has that rare combination of exceptional natural ability and gritty determination, which in our world is an invaluable asset," says Jim Donald, head of production.

Best event I've worked on: The Axe (Lynx) Apollo Space Academy. Jack Morton was brought in to support ad agency BBH and we helped set up and run the space academy at Kennedy Space Camp in Orlando, which was amazing. I was looking after the 110 winners from around the world that came to compete to go into space.

Most challenging moment: We were working with Ericsson on the NAB Las Vegas show last year and got a call saying our container with the exhibition stand inside, got stuck in the Panama Canal.

Client I'd most like to work for: I'd like to work on London Fashion Week.

Alternative career: I would love to own a restaurant in Ibiza or Formentera.

Goals before 40: To work on an Olympics Opening Ceremony, and be an executive producer or head of department. Personally I'd like to travel more in Africa, the Arctic and Japan.
