Starring in C&IT's A List 2014 is Kim Southwick, 33, account team manager at Banks Sadler.

Canadian-born Kim graduated in 2005 and moved to England six months later where she started working in the hotel sector. She worked at Eventful as an account executive, before joining Banks Sadler in 2008.

Boss says: "Kim is an enthusiastic team player who has worked tirelessly to support one of our long-standing key accounts, as well as rolling out a number of strategic projects and expansion of our services to new geographies globally," says CEO Leigh Jagger.

Best event I've worked on: The largest event I ever worked on was a million-pound event in Dublin. I work more on managing the global programmes as opposed to planning the events.

Most challenging moment: I'm responsible for looking after Asia, Africa, Europe and Canada for Banks Sadler and I've been doing that for the last three years. Running activities with various hoteliers, clients and suppliers to introduce our way of working across different regions all over the world is certainly a challenge.

Client I'd like to work with: It would be great to work more with clients in the IT sector; a brand like Google would be interesting.

Alternative career: I'd like to teach literacy. For me, the best kind of gift you can give somebody is to teach them how to read and how to escape into a book.

Goals before 40: I hope to reach an operations manager role. That would mean not just heading up my team of ten or 11 that I'm looking after right now, but others across the office.
