The 280-delegate event, organised by the Virgin Money London Marathon, looks at the medicine and science of marathon running and includes speakers from the School of Sport, Health and Exercise Sciences and London's Royal Free Hospital.

Head of venues at RIBA Venues, Stephanie Ellrott, added: "We are delighted to be hosting this event for the third year running and on the day before the Virgin Money London Marathon, one of the top international marathons across the world."

The Conference will take place in RIBA Venue’s Jarvis Hall and had previously been held at the Royal Society of Medicine and the Royal Institution of Great Britain.

Topics covered at this year's conference include the fascinating question: 'Kenyan and Ethiopian Distance Runners: What Makes Them So Good?'

RIBA Venues doubled its conference space last year and hired a new business development director in February.
