The Mermaid appoints three new staff members

The Mermaid Conference and Events Centre has appointed three new members of staff following an increase in business at the venue.

Glenn Mainwaring joins the venue from Searcys at the Barbican, where he was sales and marketing manager. In his new role he will oversee development strategies and The Mermaid’s market position.

Melissa Spanton joins the venue as business development executive, having been sales executive at Clarion Events.

The Mermaid’s third addition is Helen Coles, who will take up the position of commercial manager on a consultancy basis.

General manager of The Mermaid, Alicia Duncan, said: "The past year has been great for The Mermaid in terms of business growth, and it’s due to this success that we have expanded our team further."

In October 2013 The Mermaid made five new appointements after restructuring its conference and events department.
