McGrath, who joins from Lodestar where his role was live event producer, will work directly with the agency's UK and overseas pharmaceutical clients.
TFI Group is currently looking for a new head for its pharmaceutical division, as Dom Bemrose, director of TFI Pharma, is leaving at the end of April. The agency will also add two new project managers and one account director role this year.
Simon Maier, group development director at TFI Group, said: "Because of the pace of our growth, we want to get someone in who’s recognised in the industry to lead the group’s pharmaceutical channel in its next stage of development.
"By the end of 2014 we will be a full-service events agency and growing our pharmaceutical channels is prime to achieving that."
TFI Group will open its new Singapore office at the end of April, which will be a fully operational base to service the agency’s current pharmaceutical clients in the Southeast Asia region.
In addition, the agency will expand its Edinburgh office, with senior project manager Laura Milne relocating to Scotland.
"We’re adding resource to our base in Edinburgh to service both pharmaceutical work and also our TFI Meeting Point association conference activity, much of which emanates from Scotland and is within the scientific and medical sectors," said Maier.
