Ritz-Carlton opens new California desert resort

Ritz-Carlton Hotel Company has announced the new Rancho Mirage, a luxury desert resort in Southern California, will open on 15 May.

The Ritz-Carlton, Rancho Mirage, located two hours away from both Los Angeles and San Diego and overlooking Palm Springs and the Coachella Valley, will offer 244 rooms and suites and more than 2,780sqm of indoor and outdoor meeting space.

This will include the Ritz-Carlton Ballroom for up to 800 theatre-style or 650 for a seated dinner, the Ballroom Terrace for up to 250, and a number of meeting rooms accommodating groups from 30 to 220.

Dining venues will include an exhibition kitchen at State Fare Bar + Kitchen and a restaurant specialising in steak, seafood and fine wine, The Edge, with views over the Palm Springs valley.

Other facilities will include cliff-side swimming and serenity pools and a two-storey luxury spa.
