Gold Coast Aquatic Centre: An AUS $14m redevelopment of the facility was undertaken to host the Pan Pacific Swimming Championships, which runs from 21 to 24 August 2014. In addition to state-of-the-art, international standard competition facilities, the upgraded Gold Coast Aquatic Centre houses two indoor multi-purpose spaces suitable for meetings, seminars and functions for between 60 to 80 persons. Located alongside the Gold Coast Broadwater in Southport, outdoor podium areas also provide a waterside venue for larger functions and events.
Sharks Event Centre: The venue is undergoing major refurbishment, with the whole facility given an AUS $1m face lift including brand new tiles, a fresh paint job, an upgrade of audio visual equipment, plus new furniture, lighting, carpets, curtains, a new bar and catering equipment. The first stage of the renovation will be unveiled early next year.
Sheraton Mirage Resort and Spa: A flexible boutique space called Pandanus has opened, catering for up to 200 delegates. Formerly the Rolls Nightclub, the space offers 350sqm of internal space, high speed internet, built-in AV systems and an outdoor terrace suited to welcome gatherings and working lunches. The venue underwent an £18m refurbishment in 2012.
RACV Royal Pines: Renovations are underway at RACV Royal Pines for the complete overhaul of the conference centre, which caters for 1,800 people. Among the changes will be a new grand staircase and a glass frontage to the 1500msq Royal Benowa Ballroom, which will expand the ballroom and pre-function space, connecting it with the landscape of the golf course beyond.
