The Ground, which this year celebrates its 200th anniversary, has recently attracted corporate business from clients within the finance, retail and charity sectors. It says these bookings have helped the team to surpass 55% of the annual meetings & events budget within the first three months of the year.
Nick Kenton, head of sales at Marylebone Cricket Club, the owner of Lord's Ground, said: "2014 is a historic year for the Ground, and event bookers have found that incorporating meetings with the Ground’s celebrations adds something a little special for delegates. I’m really pleased that we’ve had such a great start to the year."
Lord’s Cricket Ground will recognise its bicentenary by erecting a 350-person capacity marquee on the Ground’s outfield. The marquee will be available for corporate hire, as well as a number of public events including a bicentenary gala banquet and bicentenary gala ball.
A commemorative MCC v Rest of the World match will also take place on Saturday 5 July, with teams led by cricket greats Sachin Tendulkar and Shane Warne.
