Healthcare company Bayer originally appointed Ashfield Meetings & Events in March 2012 and has now extended the contract for a further two years.

Ashfield Meetings & Events, which rebranded from Universal World Events last month, provides services including production, creative, digital and communication for live events.

The review of key metrics and performance indicators was initiated by Bayer’s procurement department.

This follows Ashfield's news last week that it has secured a contract with Chiesi.

A spokesperson for Bayer said: "Following the initial appointment we have been monitoring the savings, response times, service levels and performance of the Ashfield team. They have streamlined and optimised processes to deliver significant savings to our business and provided added value through their involvement in the content and communications across our meetings calendar.

"As a result, this has also helped increase both the reach and message retention to our internal and external audiences. As such, it seemed the sensible decision to extend the contract and we are looking forward to further developing our partnership."

Louise Goalen, head of venue finding and travel, commented: "We are thrilled that Bayer has decided to extend the venue-finding contract. The decision demonstrates our capabilities in providing compliant venue-finding services to the healthcare market. The team are delighted with the news and motivated to provide further demonstrable savings and enhanced service levels to strengthen our partnership."
