C&IT took an exclusive hard hat tour around the new Shangri-La Hotel at The Shard, London this morning. Here are the key facts and figures we discovered...

£450 – starting price for Superior room per night

£19,000 – cost of a night in one of the three Signature Suites, which will be 230sqm and are due to open in September

£32 – price of a full English breakfast

£16 – price of a glass of Champagne or a cocktail in the bar

£27 for a two-course lunch and £34 for three courses at the Ting restaurant, which will offer modern British fare with an Asian twist

90 – capacity in the Ting Restaurant

90% of the rooms (all bar 20) will offer a view over the River Thames

32sqm – size of the smallest Superior level room

3 – number of meeting spaces on offer on 34th floor

10 – capacity for private dining

120 – maximum capacity for seated dinner in ballroom

200 – capacity for reception in ballroom when opened out into the public meeting area, which can also be used for break-outs & drinks receptions

90 – capacity in the bar on the 52nd floor

11m – infinity pool on the 52nd floor with views over the Thames & St Paul's Cathedral

20 – capacity for the pool area which can be exclusively hired for evening events

202 – number of rooms, 59 of which will be opening on 6 May in the first phase of the launch
