The results also reveal that the US, in particular Las Vegas and New York, is the destination that is most in demand for long-haul trips, followed by Dubai and the Maldives.
Natalie Gunson, managing director at AYMTM, said: "During the course of the recession and up to 2012, Europe dominated our incentive destinations, with smaller group sizes.
"Since then, we’re seeing an average increase of 25% per annum, with 2014 set to be a record-breaking year in delegate numbers and long-haul destinations. Our clients have chosen ever-popular, highly desirable routes such as the US and Dubai with direct and frequent flights from the UK."
In C&IT's incentive travel special Indesit revealed that its strategy for 2014 involved numerous long haul trips for its staff with the company taking around 10 trips a year.
