In Numbers: European hotel rates on the rise

A PwC study has found that hotel rates throughout Europe are expected to increase significantly as occupancy rates hit record levels. C&IT highlights the key figures.

£141.60 The average daily room rate in London by the end of 2014 according to PwC. A rise from £139.07 in 2013 and £123.00 in 2010.

5.2% Dublin's predicted revenue per room (RevPar) for 2014. The Irish capital is expected to see the biggest growth in RevPar in the next year alongside London and Paris (both 3.8%)

85% London's average occupany rates - the highest in almost two decades.

£189 The most expensive room rates in Europe – Geneva. Followed by Zurich (£161), London (£134) and Paris (£127).

£7.8bn The Global Business Travel Association's (GBTA) forecast for business travel spending in 2013. This is expected ro rise by 8.2% in 2014.

970 Approximate number of new hotel rooms in Glasgow since 2007 (1,953-2,925), ahead of the Commonwealth Games this summer.
