Ashfield Meetings & Events wins Chiesi account

Ashfield Meetings & Events, formerly Universal World Events, has been appointed by healthcare company Chiesi UK, following a three-way pitch.

Chiesi, a research-driven global enterprise for healthcare professionals, has chosen Ashfield, formerly known as Universal World Events, to deliver its attendance at the European Respiratory Society Annual Congress in Munich in September 2014, as well as a number of national and international meetings.

A spokesperson from Chiesi said: "Ashfield Meetings & Events has an extensive knowledge and understanding of the compliance and regulatory requirements in the healthcare sector, which was a key driver in our decision-making process.

"Chiesi already works with Ashfield within other areas of expertise, therefore this is an extension of an already successful relationship. We are looking forward to working with Ashfield in the coming months and strengthening our partnership."

Luke Flett, head of sales and marketing, said: "The pitch process was very comprehensive. It involved a cross-functional client team made up of procurement, compliance, event and brand stakeholders. As such we had to demonstrate our capabilities and understanding across all these disciplines, particularly our compliance expertise and cost-saving initiatives."
