Poland-Smith joins RIBA Venues, the conference and events team at the Royal Institute of British Architects (RIBA), after three years as business development manager at Cavendish Conference Venues. She is also a founding member and shareholder of Etc Venues.

Poland-Smith told C&IT: "My main focus will be on selling the Jarvis and Florence Halls, which are our two largest venues, to both international and local business.

"Conferences are our bread and butter and that is what our main focus will be on but, with 23 rooms in total, including a number of terraces, we are able to host a variety of evening events as well."

RIBA UK is based at 66 Portland Place, Marylebone and can host conferences, meetings and dinners for up to 400 delegates.
