Coventry joined Reed Travel Exhibitions from W&O Events, where she had been managing director since early 2011, having been promoted from operations director. In 2009, as account director at W&O, she was nominated as one of C&IT's first ever A List, which celebrates 35 of the best agency players aged 35 and under. She was heavily involved with the GIBTM show, which took place earlier this week in Abu Dhabi.

This is quite a big change for you... what attracted you to the job?
Apart from the fact that this role provides me with a great new challenge, the IBTM shows are well respected in the industry and I take this heritage very seriously. My experience will bring an alternative perspective to the role, which I hope will add new creative elements to both business and education opportunities.

What was your knowledge of the IBTM brands before taking on the role?
I was very familiar with the IBTM events portfolio prior to joining the team as I have attended the events as a hosted buyer and was very impressed by each experience.

What are your short-term goals in your new role?
I think it is really important to take some time to gain an understanding of the bigger picture in any new role, so one of my most imminent short-term goals is to build relationships with all of my fellow employees and gain a clear understanding of how each of the teams come together to deliver shows in their respective regions.

What are your long-term ambitions?
There is no doubt that the IBTM Portfolio has an enormous amount of potential and key to my role, and consequently longer term goals, is harnessing this potential while working simultaneously to drive customer service and innovation forward.

Where will the next new IBTM show be?
I'm afraid at this point I am unable to comment but we promise to keep you fully informed as soon as we have any major announcements to make.
