Carlson Rezidor Group announced at the Radisson and Radisson Blu Americas annual business conference yesterday (18 February) that it is introducing two new global hotel brands, Radisson Red and Quorvus Collection.

As part of the new brand structure, Carlson’s strategic partner Rezidor and the Italian fashion house Missoni have mutually agreed to terminate the worldwide Master Licence Agreement for the development and operation of the brand Hotel Missoni.

The existing properties Hotel Missoni Edinburgh and Hotel Missoni Kuwait will cease to operate under the marks of Hotel Missoni by 30 June 2014. Both hotels will remain in Rezidor’s portfolio.

The agreements for the third party owned projects under development in Oman, Qatar, Turkey, Brazil and Mauritius have been terminated by Rezidor or are under negotiation for a potential conversion to other Rezidor brands.

The group said it plans to open 60 hotels under the new Radisson Red brand, which it describes as a "life style select brand that has been designed and developed to deliver today’s customer the experience of tomorrow", by 2020.

Meanwhile, the Quorvus Collection will be a collection of luxury hotels aimed at the "contemporary global traveller" that celebrate the culture of each location. Carlson plans to launch 20 hotels in the collection by 2020.

"Radisson Red and Quorvus Collection are inspired by Vision 20/20, an evolution of our Ambition 2015 growth strategy," said Trudy Rautio, president and chief executive officer, Carlson.

"Vision 20/20 aspires to elevate the guest experience with innovations in technology, guest service and beyond.  These two brand concepts will illustrate that perfectly."
