CWT Meetings & Events UK & Ireland has reported a 20% increase in revenue for 2013, which is the third consecutive year that the event management agency has seen double-digit growth.

Globally, CWT Meetings & Events revenue decreased by just under 1% in 2013, reflecting the economic situation in Europe as clients reduced their event spend to offset the impact of a weak economy.

Managing director Ian Cummings said: "In 2012, business was bolstered by Olympics-based business, so these 2013 results are a fantastic achievement."

New appointments

CWT Meetings & Events UK & Ireland has also recruited Liz Quinton as operations director and Andrea Petrucci as financial controller to complete the leadership team alongside Cummings and Jane Baker, commercial director.

CWT's growth in the UK and Ireland comes from wins with pharmaceutical, technology and financial services sector clients, including EDF, as well as a sustained performance across group travel, venue finding, strategic meetings management (SMM) and the live events divisions.
